Renae Chapman
Miners Pre Primary

Hi there,

My name is Renae Chapman and I am lucky enough to be teaching in Miners Pre-Primary this year. I have been teaching for over 20 years (and oh boy it shows!) with most of my teaching career being spent in early childhood.

I have been teaching at Hannans Primary School for a very long time. Prior to Hannans, I worked in the O’Connor Education Support Centre, teaching students with severe and multiple disabilities, until I injured my back and my career took a detour.

Positive and supportive relationships are at the core of my teaching program and I love the fact that I’ve taught many siblings from the same family. I love teaching in early childhood because no two days are ever the same and I love seeing the academic, social and emotional growth in students in a short space of time. I also really enjoy working as a team with our beautiful Education Assistants.

I am passionate about play-based learning and believe that children learn best when they are having fun.

At home I have three gigantic teenagers (pray for me please) who I chauffer around, feed endlessly and receive many lectures from. I also have 2 dogs; Honey and Teddy, a new kitten named Luna Karen-Fay and a husband! I have many, many indoor plants and spend a lot of time walking around Bunnings whilst drinking iced coffee.
