Science

As students step into the Science Lab each week they are actively engaged in the evidence-based approach of inquiry-based learning. Exploring the four topics of Biological, Chemical, Physical and Earth & Space Sciences, they develop their own explanations about scientific phenomena through reflecting on their prior knowledge, posing questions, participating in hands-on experiences, and conducting exploratory and formal investigations. The students develop and equip themselves with science inquiry skills to develop their current and future understanding of the nature of science.

My name is Miss Rachel Skellett. I studied a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Western Australia. Thereafter, I completed a Master’s of Teaching to enable me to share my passion and love for science. As we move into an increasingly technology-based society I believe it is important to develop children’s science literacy as it challenges their critical thinking and leads to innovation.

The Science Lab is located in Saddington Block in the upper area of the school. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me in person or by email. My email address is: Rachel.Skellett@education.wa.edu.au.
