Year 5, Quality Teacher Leader
Hi, I am Marnie Smith and I am excited to be teaching Year 3 in Room 11 in 2022! Year 3 is my favourite year to teach. I absolutely love teaching and have been teaching since 2012. This will be my seventh year at Hannans Primary School.
I believe in creating a safe, supportive and fair classroom environment where everyone feels like they belong. I understand that progress may happen at different times and in different ways for each individual student. I want to ensure each student strives to achieve their personal best and therefore have high expectations for all students regarding behaviour, work and participation.
I am very excited to be part of the Bring Your Own Device program in Year 3. Students today need the knowledge, skills and confidence to make ICT work for them in school and beyond. I am looking forward to assisting them in doing this.
When I am not teaching, I am usually with my two boys, watching them play sport or being their personal chauffer. You will also find me on the netball court, working out or at the horse races.
Some fun facts about me: I am Kalgoorlie born and bred. I absolutely HATE coffee but love tea. I have an obsession with earrings – the bigger the better! And my favourite subject to teach is Literacy.
I’m excited to be part of the wonderful Hannans Primary School team again and am looking forward to another wonderful year in Year 3.
