My name is Kirra Gauci and this year I am teaching Year 4 in Room 10.
I am a graduate teacher from Perth, but last year I spent my first-year teaching in Port Hedland in a 3/4 split class at Port Hedland Primary School. I am very excited to be living in Kalgoorlie this year and getting to know the town!
My approach to teaching and learning is student-centred with a focus on Inclusive Education. I believe in fostering a positive learning environment where students get to make choices about their learning and are able to demonstrate their understanding in ways suited to them. I love developing integrated projects to support students learning and find the end result very rewarding because it is always different and amazing! My favourite areas to teach are Literacy and HaSS.
In my spare time I love to go camping and exploring (please let me know if you have any good spots). I have a 6-year-old dog named Dezi who also comes everywhere with me!
This year I am very lucky to be teaching Year 4. I am looking forward to an exciting year ahead and feel privileged to be part of the HPS team.
