Amy Twyford
Year 4, Quality Teacher Leader
My name is Amy Twyford, and I am excited to begin my first year as a classroom teacher at Hannans Primary School. While this is my first year as a full-time teacher, I had the invaluable experience of completing a six-week placement at Hannans last year. This opportunity showed me the wonderful school community and made me excited to return to Kalgoorlie. With 10 years of experience teaching gymnastics, I have honed my skills in coaching, mentoring, and fostering personal growth, which I bring into my classroom to help students reach their full potential. I am committed to providing quality education that empowers students to succeed both academically and personally.
Personally, I am a firm believer in the importance of cultivating a growth mindset, and I am passionate about helping students develop confidence and resilience in their learning journey. In my free time, I enjoy reading, camping, and spending time outdoors, which helps me to stay grounded and energized. I love bringing a positive and inclusive energy into my classroom, where students feel safe to explore, ask questions, and take risks in their learning. I’m known for my patient and approachable nature, and I truly enjoy making connections with my students, encouraging them to be curious and embrace the joy of learning.
In my classroom, students and parents can expect a supportive and engaging atmosphere where each child is encouraged to be their best self. I focus on fostering a collaborative, respectful environment, where open communication between home and school is a priority. I’m thrilled to be a part of your child’s educational journey and look forward to a successful and enriching year ahead!
