Amy Liddell
Year 4
My name is Amy Liddell and I am excited to be teaching Year 4. In Term 4 last year, I worked as a relief teacher at Hannans Primary School, where I built strong relationships across year levels and further strengthened my classroom practice. These experiences have shaped my approach as a confident, organised and consistent educator.
I also bring eight years of experience as a swimming teacher working with children aged 3–16. Teaching students across such a wide age range has strengthened my ability to build trust quickly, communicate clearly and form positive respectful relationships with both children and families. Relationship building is central to my teaching practice because I believe students learn best when they feel known, supported and understood.
I am passionate about creating structured and engaging learning environments where high expectations are paired with strong support. I place significant importance on developing students’ oral language skills knowing that confident communicators are confident learners. I explicitly teach emotional and social regulation strategies so students can manage challenges, build resilience and contribute positively to our classroom community.
I enjoy teaching through movement and incorporating active hands-on learning experiences that increase engagement and deepen understanding. I believe students learn best when they are involved, challenged and supported to think critically.
I value strong partnerships between school and home and prioritise clear open communication with families. I am committed to nurturing each child’s academic growth, confidence and wellbeing and I look forward to a positive and successful Year 4 year together.
