Are you interested in becoming part of a dynamic School Board that works to provide inspirational learning opportunities for our students?
During 2011, Hannans Primary School was selected as one of the Western Australian government schools to become an Independent Public School.
Part of the process of becoming an Independent Public School is to change the governing structure from a ‘School Council’ to a ‘School Board’. This document will set out how that will be achieved and what a ‘School Board’ will do. The Principal’s, School Board’s and the whole school community’s efforts remain firmly committed to maintaining and enhancing the outstanding reputation of Hannans Primary School as a school of excellence. The increased autonomy of being an Independent Public School will enable Hannans Primary School to provide better educational opportunities and improved outcomes for all students.
The School Council and Principal have decided on a timeline to transform the School Council into the School Board. The first step is to call for NOMINATIONS from our parent body to become members of the inaugural Hannans Primary School Board. Every parent with a child at HPS is eligible to run for a position on the School Board and every parent gets a vote if required. Voting will be required if more than four parents nominate for the Board.
